POWER YOGA

Power Yoga is a dynamic style, born in America rooted in the Ashtanga Yoga of Pattabhi Jois. Compared to the unchanging and not always accessible practice of the latter, Power Yoga develops a more preparatory and gradual structure. Vinyasa, which literally means nyasa (to stay) and vi (in a special way), “to position in a special way”, is the founding concept of Power as well as Ashtanga. It also indicates a flow where the breath is closely related to the movement.
Everything in Vinyasa is coordinated, fluid, natural, just as breathing and movement are. The Power class develops strength, stability and flexibility; increases cardiovascular and respiratory performance; awareness of the body and mind thus reducing stress and anxiety.

The class lasts 60/90 minutes depending on the level and includes breath awareness, a warm-up, a stabilization part and as in Ashtanga Yoga, sun salutations, standing and sitting postures, inversions and closings.

ASHTANGA YOGA

ASHTANGA YOGA

Ashtanga comes from the great family of Hatha Yoga. The style we know today is been codified by the Guru Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, is also known as “Breathing Yoga” or “Moving meditation”.
In this practice, the asanas follow one another in a precise and structured order, under the watchful control of breath and gaze, to deeply connect the body, mind and spirit.
The benefits of Ashtanga are many, both physical and energetic: constant practice tones and strengthens the body, improves breathing, making it deeper and more aware and leads to a calm and serene mind.
Ashtanga Yoga is developed in series, the first (Yoga Chikitsa) aims to purify and align the body, the second one (Nadi Sodhana) to purify and energize, the advanced series (Stira Bhagah Sampta) focus on strength and harmony of the body. The postures of each series are given by the teacher in a strict and progressive order. When you have mastered all the assigned sequence you can proceed to the following postures, in fact, each posture is preparatory and functional to the next. The practice can be both guided and Mysore style (self-practice).

FUNCTIONAL TRAINING

Functional training has been around since ancient Greece. The Spartan soldiers to prepare for battles, trained with bodyweight exercises using the weight of the body and the force of gravity. Functional training aims to improve daily movements and prevent possible injuries through a series of complex and multiplanar exercises. It involves several muscle groups at the same time in order to develop greater core stability and greater coordination. Classes can take place outdoors and indoors and vary in intensity and level according to specific needs and objectives. They also develop strength, endurance, speed and mobility. Various protocols are used during the lessons like TABATA, EMOM, HIIT and they range from free body exercises, to small tools, dumbbells, barbells, bags and ropes. Kettlebells and TRX are also part of this workout.
TRX, also known as suspension training, is a very versatile tool. Invented by Randy Hetrick, a former Navy Seal who only had a parachute strap and a ju-jitsu belt to train, TRX takes full advantage of body weight and works against gravity by synergistically involving different muscle groups and developing the sense of balance.

POSTURAL TRAINING

Postural training aims to gain muscle balance through movements in order to improve posture body control. The exercises can be preventive and curative where there are weak or painful areas to be treated or bring general conditioning improve movement and posture in everyday life. Postural gymnastics is suitable for everyone and the classes are varied and customizable.
During the class, we work on joint stability and mobility, muscle elasticity and respiratory gymnastics so that all parts of the body are healthy and efficient.

My name is Eleonora and I’d like to tell you a little about myself.
I studied ballet and modern dance from early childhood to high school. Dance made me discover the world of movement. At the same time, I studied piano and eventually graduated at the Conservatory of Music. A great way to have fun while studying Architectural Engineering was teaching Walking at different gyms. Later, I became a qualified Personal Trainer and I studied other types of training, especially TRX, Kettlebells, Pilates and Flowing.
Later, I began my journey of body and mind awareness at the “Roberto Bocchi Power Yoga School” and in practice Ashtanga Yoga with teacher Lino Miele.
Yoga taught me to live the present consciously, accept the past and believe in the future. It helps me to enjoy the good times and to get through hard times. So:
“Believe in yourself and move on!”
